Connect your WordPress site to Auto-SEO in two clicks so your weekly SEO articles publish automatically. No passwords shared.

== Description ==

Auto-SEO (https://auto-seo.co.uk) researches, writes and publishes a question-led SEO article to your website every week, builds links to it, and shows you rankings, AI visibility and a Google heat map in one dashboard.

This plugin is the connector. Install it, click **Connect to Auto-SEO**, approve the site in your Auto-SEO account, and every approved article publishes here automatically with its featured image, category and meta description (Yoast, Rank Math and All in One SEO supported). Images are copied into your media library; nothing hotlinks.

* No application passwords, no shared logins: the plugin uses its own token-secured endpoint that only Auto-SEO can call, and you can disconnect at any time.
* Daily health check so Auto-SEO knows immediately if publishing stops working.
* Idempotent publishing: an article is never duplicated if it is sent twice.
* A small dashboard widget showing how many Auto-SEO articles are live.

You need an Auto-SEO account. New customers can start with a £1 trial: the first article written and published to your site, plus a Google heat map of where your business shows in local search.

== Installation ==

1. Upload the plugin folder to `/wp-content/plugins/` or install it from Plugins → Add New.
2. Activate it.
3. Go to Settings → Auto-SEO Connect and click **Connect to Auto-SEO**.
4. Sign in to your Auto-SEO account and click **Approve**. Done.

== Frequently Asked Questions ==

= Does Auto-SEO get my WordPress password? =
No. The plugin creates a random token that only allows creating and updating posts through its own endpoint. You can regenerate it by disconnecting.

= What if my security plugin blocks the REST API? =
Allow requests to `/wp-json/autoseo/v1/` from the Auto-SEO server (198.38.92.6). The settings page tells you if the REST API looks blocked.

= Can I edit the articles? =
Yes. They are normal posts. Edit, reschedule or delete them like any other post.

== Changelog ==

= 1.1.0 =
* Article schema (Article, FAQ and breadcrumb structured data) is now kept and added to the page head, so WordPress no longer strips it out.
* Works for articles published with the plugin and with an Application Password.
* Skips its own Article and breadcrumb markup when Yoast or Rank Math already provide them, so nothing is duplicated.
* Plugin updates now appear in your WordPress dashboard.

= 1.0.0 =
* First release: connect flow, publish endpoint, featured images, categories, SEO meta, daily health ping, dashboard widget.
